How does it work?

Laser tattoo removal is the most effective way to remove a tattoo.  There are many lasers on the market that can treat tattoo removal, but some are better than others.

Undoo Tattoo uses the MedLite C6 Q Switched Nd: YAG laser.  The laser removes tattoos with the energy of light and is designed to produce one or more specific wavelengths of light. Tattoo ink is removed by using this specific wavelength of light which passes into the skin, but is absorbed only by the ink.  The rapid absorption of the light energy causes the tattoo ink to break into tiny particles which can then be removed by the body’s natural filtering systems.  Our laser provides maximum tattoo removal while leaving the surrounding skin unharmed.

But the right laser is not enough…

Although Undoo Tattoo provides you with the most powerful and effective laser available on the market to remove tattoos, your technician’s experience is critical.  Laser technology, upgrades and maintenance are ongoing, which Undoo Tattoo is very aggressive about ensuring in order to always provide you with the best results and service possible.  Undoo Tattoo only focuses on removing tattoos.  Thus, our technician offers you more years of experience utilizing this particular laser than anyone in Northern Nevada.  Technical knowledge, skill level, and detailed lasering capability are extremely important attributes your technician should possess to deliver optimum results.  Be cautious of any laser treatment provider promising or guaranteeing specific and quick removal.  Although laser tattoo removal is very effective it still takes time.

Why is a professionally serviced laser system important?

Your professional tattoo removal specialist’s laser should be serviced at least every six months for maximum power by the manufacturer’s Senior Service Engineer. Maximum power is achieved through regular and credible service; if not, the power of the laser diminishes. Your treatment period will be prolonged, which increases the cost towards your laser tattoo modification. A laser does not break down with regular and proper maintenance. Less power equals less successful results!

Can black tattoos be removed and how effective are treatments on colored tattoos?

Black is usually the easiest color to remove.  Greens, blues, yellow and white are the most difficult colors to remove.  Over time most tattoos can be removed, however, dark tattoos, cover ups and brightly colored tattoos may not show visible progress for several treatments.  We have the equipment to address all colors which require specific wave lengths.  Many colors can be fully removed and those that cannot can be significantly faded so that most leave a faint shadow or blend in with the skin.

If you have a color tattoo make sure your provider has the additional hand pieces for their laser that specifically address a particular wavelength of color. Always ask for pictures and experience.

How much does it cost to remove a tattoo?

Pricing is based on size, color, location of tattoo and detail of work required. A consultation is recommended to determine exact pricing and estimated time for removal. We want you to be comfortable and educated as it pertains to your particular situation, as well as, answer your questions and explain the process.

Consultations are only $25, which is applied back towards your treatment.

What are my payment options and do you offer package discount pricing?

We offer a 10%-20% discount with the purchase of a 5-15 treatment package. Packages are encouraged for the best rate as multiple treatments are typically required. Results may not become visible until completing several treatments.

We accept Visa, Mastercard, Debit, Check or Cash.

How long does it take to remove a tattoo?

The number of treatments required is based on depth and volume of ink in the skin, type of ink, skin pigment, patient immune system and ink color. Homemade tattoos and light professional tattoos may lift as quickly as 1 to 5 treatments. Dark, colored, cover-up and professional tattoos may take 10 or more treatments.

Does tattoo removal hurt?

Laser tattoo removal can be uncomfortable but only for a brief moment. Most sessions are completed within a few minutes and there is no pain experienced the moment the laser stops. Your comfort is of the utmost importance at Undoo Tattoo. We proceed at a pace that is comfortable to you and ice the treated area to help desensitize the heat.

Will I scar?

The laser does not break the skin. After the treatment you will experience some swelling and redness which is treated with icing for 6 hours, 20 minutes on and 20 minutes off. Ointments and bandages are not needed. Scarring is a risk but not typical. If the skin does scar it generally appears as a small spot(s).

Can I tattoo over my lasered tattoo?

Absolutely! Your skin should appear to return to its original color and texture and ready for your new tattoo.

I want to fade my tattoo for a cover up. How does that work?

The approach to fading a tattoo is the same as a full removal. You simply stop treatments when the existing tattoo appears light enough to go over. This can usually be best determined with a discussion with your tattoo artist. Typically 1 to 6 treatments are sufficient for a cover up.

Can you remove a portion of the tattoo?

Yes, our technician is exceptionally skilled at detail oriented removal. Portions of tattoos may be removed while leaving other areas unaffected.

How often can I receive a treatment?

A 4-6 week waiting period is recommended in between treatments. After the laser fragments the ink the body absorbs the particles through your natural immune system. Treating a tattoo more frequently is premature and the body will not have had enough time to process the ink. You can set your own schedule as it suits your budget and lifestyle as long as you return no sooner than 4 weeks.

Why has my tattoo shown little if any visible change after a few treatments?

An individual’s response varies from person to person. Dark, deep, colored, touched up and covered up tattoos may be especially difficult to remove and move more slowly. The tattoo may not appear to respond quickly even though the ink is dissipating. This is not uncommon particularly if a person has a compromised immune system.
